New! Game Sense Unit Plan templates to be released in November

Planning units and lessons for a term and year are essential practices for teachers across all subjects. Planning ahead is critical to ensure you are setting the right activities for your students to achieve the desired learning intentions which reflect the curriculum.

Teachers are always thinking about ways to engage their students, however just thinking about what you want to teach is not necessarily explicit planning. Taking the time to explicitly plan your lessons has many benefits: it maximises student learning opportunities, decreases management time associated with teaching, helps you to take into consideration varying student backgrounds and abilities, and can support the development and work of other teachers in your team or school when planning together or sharing your planning.

So! We are very excited to announce the upcoming release of our new Game Sense Unit Plan packs for Levels 5 and 6, which aim to help teachers plan and implement game centred units to link to the Victorian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education across the four Game Sense categories.

Due for official release in November 2019, each unit plan contains:

  • A unit overview
  • 8x detailed lessons with varying activities
  • Targeted assessment tools, and;
  • Supporting information to guide implementation into your school.

A Generic Assessment Tools pack incorporating 8x assessment tasks which can be used across any of the units will also be available for purchase (discounted for ACHPER members).

When released, upon ordering, you will be able to download the resource/s from our website in Microsoft Word format – this will enable you to adapt the resource to suit your context, and easily print lessons and resources as required.
