Squash & Racquetball Victoria seeks secondary schools to deliver junior program

Squash & Racquetball Victoria (SRV) aims to provide accessible and inspirational pathways for junior players in all areas of Victoria.

VicHealth funding has provided the organisation with an opportunity to expand its reach and resources to deliver a world-class junior squash program. The ongoing development of this program will be guided by evaluations and building important partnerships.

SRV is looking for three secondary schools interested in supporting delivery of a four-week junior program, accompanied with teacher development sessions, all of which is completely free to the school. With ‘train the trainer’ style workshops, teachers will gain confidence to deliver squash and have an opportunity to learn new skills.

The two aspects of the initiative includes:

  1. An SRV facilitator / coach will co-partner with the school to deliver the four sessions across four weeks, and;
  2. SRV facilitator will work with P.E. teachers to teach them to run these sessions into the future.

SRV is particularly interested in hearing from schools that either:

  • Are located in lower socioeconomic areas within Victoria
  • Have a high migrant student population
  • LGBTQI students
  • Female students

We also note there is an age group requirement - students must be aged 12-15 years.
