Lifesaving education programs in the classroom for Term 2 or 3

This article is from our collaboration partners, Life Saving Victoria.

Water safety education is available all year round, in and out of the water, teaching students practical and engaging water safety, lifesaving and emergency response skills.

Life Saving Victoria (LSV) encourages a three-tiered progressive approach to ensure every child has access to knowledge-based programs, swimming lessons and open water experience. The classroom programs are suitable for all year levels and help embed vital lifesaving skills.

The Victorian government provides Swimming in Schools funding to Victorian government primary, specialist and English language schools, as well as Catholic primary schools.

Prioritising the knowledge-based activities for the swimming and water safety component of the Victorian curriculum provides students with all-important life skills. Swimming and water safety education during the colder months allows time for essential preparation for summer camps, swimming lessons and beach programs later in the year.

Get in early to lock in your Term 2, or 3 ‘In the classroom’ dates and to submit your EOI for Term 4 ‘At the beach, river or lake’ sessions.
